Stainless steel pin is used for added security. 

At the end on th linear actuator extension rod is a manual release pin and release clip which allows the ram end to be removed from the gate.  This can be replaced with the stainless steel pin and secured with a padlock.  This will prevent the ram from being released from the gate.
